Slow Motion Train Wreck...

Remember the opening to the Six Million Dollar Man, where Steve Austin's test plane crashes on the runway...? THAT in slow-mo is a bit more accurate. In the past week, we've lost our director and the equippment he was going to get (and were told by aNOTHer potential one who's already directed 6 shorts that our script is too ambitious for him to even attempt), two actors (one per the loss of the director and another per him having 2 strokes), are wondering about aNOTHer actor per him not contacting or responding TO us in almost two weeks and lost the cabin location per the owner burning it down (on purpose). I'm taking a few days (or a week) off so I don't have a stroke as well. I maintained at the H.P. Lovecraft festival that we'd share both ups and downs on this site, so here's the latter in all it's abysmal/hopeless glory! If you're an 'other people's failure junky'... ENJOY!!

We are cast!!

...well, not officially yet, but we have an idea of the last two we need and will confirm this in a week. *crosses fingers* Our second newsletter is hot off the presses and poised for distribution and our webteam of Amy, Rachel, Arnie and Gwyn are poised to assault the internet with all sorts of devious little 'infectious' ideas to proliferate our presence therein (mwa-ha-ha!). We have the New Year's Images online now, so check those out. Per areas in which we are lacking, our locations department is still searching for a usable 'swampy area within the trees' that remains flooded in the Summer, and a large, mansion-esque library room, so if anyone reading this knows of such places, please let us know at the contact email below this frame.

Sad news and MUCH work...

I'm sorry to say that Eric Brackett, our Locations Manager has been called away from the project for personal reasons. We're not sure when or if he will return. No one contacted us about the winning lottery number form last week's New Year's drawing, so we've picked another number this week... 17. If you have sticker number 17, please contact us at "info@mindswing.com" to claim your Arkham Community College Tshirt. If no one claims this one, next weekend I'll request that ANYONE with one of the 50 numbered stickers we passed out at the rave on New Year's reply and the 1st person to do so will win.
As can be seen by 'regular' visitors, we've been extensively updating and populating our site. We have many new media updates scheduled over the next couple of weeks including videos for the actor's auditions and 2 scenes that have been done in Manga-style. The Forum will be up next month as well as our first Street Team event.
As for the movie itself, Serina and I are kicking the effects workshop into high gear. Now that we already have the first stage prototypes of several of the creatures completed, we'll be completing construction on them and making backup copies of them for the final "A" and "B" props to be used, as well as tackling the various concepts we have for background/incidental creatures. We received some assistance from hiking guide author, William Sullivan in finding the final few locations we're lacking, and Jake, Garren and I are continuing our work on the shooting script, thus storyboarding should begin by the end of the month. So, if you're interested in seeing in process, the production of a micro-budget horror film... BOOKMARK THIS PAGE NOW! Oh Yeah... the New Year's images are now online.

Lottery Results...

This is just a quickie to post the results of the 'lottery' we held by passing out numbered stickers New Year's eve at a local rave. The winning sticker number is #37. If you have sticker #37 (and you need to still have the backing) please email us @ "info@mindswing.net" to claim your Origional Arkham Community College T-shirt. We have them available in most sizes. If the person with ticket #37 doesn't contact us by next Friday, 01-08-07, we will draw another one next Saturday, so if you didn't win this week, come back then, as you might get another chance! Thanks to all who participated, and keep coming back to watch our project evolve.

Happy New Year!

The party was great and the police didn't come... at least by the time I left at 12:30. Gwyn and Sam went to a rave afterward and are as I type, passing out stickers (with a new design that we just had printed) to raffle off a T-Shirt. The winning number will be announced this next weekend. We just came up with the idea at the 11th hour (literally) so we couldn't coordinate with Amy and Rachel to include their sticker distribution at severeal downtown venues tonight, into the raffle. There will be plenty of other contests as we get our Street Team off the ground in the coming weeks, so come back soon! '^.^,
