HPL Festi Photos!!

Alright... we've finally coordinated everyone that had a camera (except Hannah - our Winged MindSwinG Poster-Model ;p ... hers will be added soon), into getting the images that they captured, uploaded into our photobucket site... They came out great! Thanks to all who went, for a wonderful and productive time!
Our benefit at Diablo's Downtown Lounge is now 5 days away, and we're all quite excited. We're basically having a BIG party at a club for our little venture... (See prev Blog posts per details)... We have a few surprises planned, such as the rumoured possibility of the ACTUAL ressurrection of a deceased 60's rock icon JUST FOR THIS SHOW!!! And for only 5 measly bucks!! Who can forgo THAT!?
On other topics, we're currently getting in contact with a possible cinematographer and searching for 3 males and one female to add to our actor's corral, per loosing our Portland acting crew to the obvious crippling financial and logistic hurdles that that situation would offer. Anyone interested in auditioning that lives in the Eugene, Oregon area, can contact us at "info@mindswing.net".
Finally, Jake and I have decided to film one scene in February (not sure which yet), to get a difficult one out of the way, practice/troubleshoot for the June through September shooting goal, and have a reel to show to potential investers. And our web mistress, Liz tells me that the Forum should be up in the next couple days, as well as updates on everything, broken image links restored (we shuffled the photobucket account around a bit) and we're planning on soon making available a few scenes from the screenplay as downloadable PDF files! Wo0t!

VERY sad news...

After much consideration, and weighing of options, Jake and I have decided that it's just financial and logistic folly to include actors in the cast who live in Portland. Being based in Eugene, we would have to spend far too much time and money to get everyone together for workshops and such, so we let Eric, Ry and Rachel Face go. All (including Jake and I) are quite bummed out per this. We should have established this in the beginning, but since two of them (Eric, who the part of "Eric" was written for, and Ry who is a carbon copy of the person that "Lucas" was penned after) moved up there to further their lives after we cast them, we thought we'd give it a shot. It seemed 'do-able' at the time, but as we're approaching the hour when we're planning the readthroughs, auditions and workshops, it's becoma apparent how our rose colored lenses idealized a 'just plain bad' idea. We are very sorry this disappointing situation occurred. It makes me, just sick in my gut, thinking about it.
On another topic, the links to the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival images we took should be posted by the end of this coming weekend, as should the next website update. The updates are planned to occur about once per week as we continue to populate the 'as yet not', sections.

Is it over...?

Golly, it's hard to belive a week's gone by since the last post. After the festi, I've been deluged with old catch-up and new set-up work... It was a great time for all. A LOT of great contacts were made (more on those as they develop) and we definately made our presence known. I'd like to thank Andrew and Sarah, the responsible parties for the H. P. Lovecraft festival, for being such gratious and able hosts. We have a lot of images to share from the event... except, I'm still waiting to get them myself, and then post them. So stay tuned...
We're now plastering the city (Eugene, Or) with flyers, advertising our benefit on October 30th at Diablo's Downtown Lounge, and seeking a cinematographer, so we can go ahead with the shooting script, now that the 6th and final revision of the screen play is being completed.
We're also gearing up for finalizing the actors involved and beginning 'formal' auditions, readthroughs and workshops. Watch our Actor's Studio link for all that to begin, in the coming month.

Last post before Festival...

Good golly, we've been busy! Three creatures are now cast (Bug, Baby, Ocupus), though not cleaned and painted yet, as that's not a current goal. We also have several tentacle examples to bring with us. We hung Mari, Jamie and Charlene's work at Diablo's Downtown Lounge for the October art show corresponding with our benefit there on the 30th. The flier for the benefit is finished as well.
Per that, the secret headline band is........ "In the Name of C'thul'hu"! (ok it's In the Name of God renamed for the event, but it still looks cool on the adverts)
We're going to have over 10 people from our project at the festi. It should be a great time! We're also going to have our first actor audition. We already have 5 of the 7 parts cast, but need to do formal auditions just to be sure. Some of the parts were written for the actors and the others are people that have a good amount of experience, som we're confident in their abilities, and through interviewing/ hanging out with them, they all seem perfect for the parts. This audition will be for the part of Sarah, with the Portland based actress/ Suicide Girl/ Tromette, Rachel Face. Our buddy Shane who is doing graphic art for us, is friends with her and she tells our director, Jake that the part of Sarah is 'won't be much of a stretch' for her, per they are quite similar in character.
